Jazz at the Civic

Wednesday, April 29th, 2015

The Terang & Mortlake Health Services Ladies Auxillary are hosting a Jazz Night on Saturday 16th May to raise funds for a bus for Mount View Nursing Home.

Former Glenormiston resident, jazz pianist Nonie Sadler, will head up an all-star line-up of some of the cream of Melbourne jazz musicians, when she presents her six piece dance band for the Terang Hospital on Saturday May 16th at the Terang Civic Hall running from 8pm until midnight with nibbles & supper provided. Tables of 10 will be available.

The musicians are: trumpet, vocals and washboard, Ian Smith; clarinet/saxs, Jason Downes; guitar/banjo, John Cox; bass/tuba, Mark Elton; drums, Richard Opat and of course Nonie Sadler, piano.

Nonie is very excited about featuring this All-Star Jazz ensemble from Melbourne and has this to say…….

‘I am delighted to have been offered the opportunity of playing ’back home’ in Terang again and to catch up with some of my old friends and relatives. I am particularly looking forward to this event, as I’ve put together a top line-up of some of Melbourne finest jazz musicians. I’ve also designed a program that will showcase to advantage the band’s formidable talent along with their multi-instrumental prowess!

To satisfy the tastes of both young and old music lovers alike, we will include some great tunes from all eras, amongst our repertoire for the evening. I’m really looking forward to what I know will be an exciting and entertaining evening for everyone present. See you then!’

Tickets for this event are available from:
